If it does and is early enough we'll depart towards Sossusvlei, if it doesn't we're here for another night. We'll only know tomorrow......
After leaving an enormous bundle at the laundry, B dropped me off at the TRC. I enjoyed another long chat with Tiekey, and found out that the Spar in Mariental is probably now closed. We were only really going through Mariental to make use of the Spar, as I remember it having a really good range of products, but now we will almost certainly take a different route (sorry, Robyn). Johan Mostert, who was my manager at the TRC years ago, was also able to escape from work commitments to have a chat with me. It was very nice indeed to see him and catch up on news of his family and other folks I knew. Johan invited us to visit him and his wife Celie, but we are now a bit reluctant to take the truck around after dark, so we may not manage this. Later on I went back to Raimie's shop - the customers must think that I am becoming a fixture there. We spent the evening at her house again and ate a picnic I devised consisting of Smash (much nicer than you might expect), tinned luncheon ham, green salad and beer. Raimie doesn't usually cook in the evening, so I wanted to do something simple. This was a lovely relaxing evening together. We talked about the improvements she wants to make to her shop in town and to "Balaton Kiosk", her newer venture at home. Back to Lafenis camping/lodge for the 3rd night.
