Well, here we are at Weston, in the next phase of trying to get organised for departure. We left the Leicester house cleaner and shinier than it's ever been before, ready for tenants to move in. Most of our stuff from there is now in storage, but quite a bit has made its way here either because it's needed for the trip, needed before we go, or we haven't made our minds up about it yet. Bags, boxes and general gubbins are once again piled up in every room here. I am trying to find homes for things, or pack them for storage, while Barney has made a good start on clearing out the garage of the accumulated junk (such a harsh word, but I can't find the thesaurus) of the last 20ish years. Don't think we would ever have been likely to use the home gym again anyway! Right now the legendary Pat is doing some serious hedge reduction and we've discovered that the sky is actually visible from the garden after all. The two of them are out there, one chopping, one shredding, both getting covered in evil scratches from the hawthorn. For those who know the place, the laurel hedge is likely to remain untouched, as it's just too enormous to tackle. Inside the house, I have also been hoovering up all but the scariest of the spiders and their webs. Some corners have already been re-colonised, but overall the arachnid population has been drastically reduced. They've had their own way here for far too long! Right, better make some coffee and get on with some more sorting. S.
