We almost stepped on a chameleon crossing the path this morning - green with 3 horns. It crossed the path and tried to climb a metal pole, so we (think that we) helped it by moving it under some shrubs where it headed for the nearest vertical trunk to climb.
Off to the Galleria for a massive food shop, buy some anti-malarials, some rice milk for Sue, a SIM card top-up and grab some cash! Next we went to the Karen Blixen museum - basically it's her old house which was once on a farm outside Nairobi - now it's a very nice residential area. The house is a surprisingly small but lovely colonial bungalow with lots of windows, huge gardens and dark wood. Somehow it's a very sad place. The atmosphere was marred by lots of noise - drilling for water in the garden plus the dismantling of large marquees that had apparently been used for a weekend function, and then there was the litter strewn all over the garden - shame. We've both decided to read "Out of Africa" to get a better understanding.
Torrential rain in the early evening (still no drips). Not many people for dinner so we were joined by both Alan and his wife Lonnita, a very lively chat about living in England. Happiness (Habanas) who runs the bar (and many other jobs) is back from a break - good to see him again, we gave him a copy of a photo from January.
